Mahindra Overtakes Tata Motors to Claim 3rd Spot Among India’s Top Car Brands

Mahindra Overtakes Tata Motors to Claim 3rd Spot Among India’s Top Car Brands with September Sales Boom

Mahindra Becomes India’s 3rd Largest Carmaker with 24% Sales Surge in September 2024 🚗📈

Mahindra & Mahindra, India’s largest SUV manufacturer, has achieved a major milestone by becoming the third-largest carmaker in the country 🌟. This achievement comes on the heels of an impressive 24% increase in sales in September 2024 🚀, allowing Mahindra to surpass Tata Motors in the rankings. The sales surge is largely driven by the success of popular models like the Thar, XUV700, Scorpio-N, and XUV300 🚙🔥.

📢 New Launch Alert: The brand’s lineup has also expanded with the introduction of the Thar Roxx, with bookings starting in October 2024 🗓️.

Despite Maruti Suzuki maintaining its position as the top car manufacturer in India, and Hyundai Motor India securing the second spot, Mahindra is closing the gap fast. In September, Mahindra sold 51,062 SUVs, coming close to Hyundai’s 51,101 units, which marked a 5% YoY decline 📊. This makes Mahindra a rising competitor in the Indian auto industry.

🗨️ Chairman Anand Mahindra's Inspirational Message
Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the achievement:
"The only race worth winning is the one you race against yourself; against your OWN aspirations."
He also acknowledged Tata Motors as a respected competitor, saying, "We have always seen Tata Motors as a respected elder brother that spurs us to keep improving ourselves."

In a month when many top automakers, including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and Tata Motors, faced slowing demand and excess inventory, Mahindra stood out as one of the few brands to record a sales increase 📈. Kia and Toyota also reported positive sales during this period.

🎉 Festive Season Outlook
With the festive season approaching (early October to early November), Mahindra's positive momentum comes at a perfect time for buyers. Indian consumers are set to make significant purchases, driven by festive discounts and the tradition of buying new vehicles during this auspicious period 🛍️🚘.
